River Journey, part 1: River in the Rain

If everything goes right, by this time tomorrow I’ll probably be tired, wet, and alone. And muddy—hopefully really muddy. 

This trip has been a long time coming. For at least seven years, I have wanted to do a river float trip. It was never a burning desire, exactly. I knew neither which river I would choose, nor when. It was an undeveloped plan for someday. Then, a year ago March, a song changed everything.”
