AGLOW Media Camps

AGLOW believes in the power of connecting content creators with outdoor opportunities and the product brands, organizations and tourism destinations behind those opportunities. Throughout the year, media camps take place at various locations with a handful of creators who then communicate with stories, photos, podcasts, tv shows and more. It’s a perfect match for everyone involved. In 2023, there have been three media camps held: Lake of the Woods in Minnesota, Niagara River in New York and the Chippewa Flowage near Hayward, Wisconsin. Here are photos from the three events:

Hayward Lakes Area, May 21 – May 25: The group stayed at Deerfoot Lodge on the Chippewa Flowage. We had delicious food, learned more about the history of the lodges in the area and met some great people. We fished the flowage with St Croix Panfish series rods and Al’s Goldfish. We boated mixed bags of crappies, walleyes, bluegills, perch and pike. The camp also featured tours of the St Croix Rod Factory and the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame.

Niagara River, February 14 – February 17: AGLOW traveled to Lewiston, NY to fish the famous river connected Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. The Niagara River is a year-round fishing destination featuring hard-fighting steelhead, lake trout, brown trout, walleye and more. Using the new 2-piece X Trek rods from St Croix we caught all four species. We visited Niagara Falls and the Greater Niagara Fishing Expo. Lake of the Woods, January 29 – February 1: The “Walleye Capital of the World” in northern Minnesota was our destination for a “Ice Fishing Media Camp”. We stayed at River Bend Resort and fished with ice rod and reel combos from Favorite and Zebco along with lures from Live Target. We had non-stop action with plenty of eaters providing a delicious fish fry when we got back to the lodge. We cleaned those fish using Mr Crappie electric fillet knives from Smith’s Consumer Products.
