Suddenly the tiny piece of floating yarn just barely paused and dipped slightly. I brought the rod up quickly and found myself firmly attached to a rainbow trout, its bright reflection in the crystal-clear water catching the sunlight like a mirror.

Welcome to of North Georgia’s Toccoa River, just outside Mineral Bluff, Ga. Russ Rundberg, a volunteer with Trout Unlimited stood ready with the net and after a brief, but fierce battle, the first trout I’ve caught with a fly rod in many years was in hand.
