National Bowhunter Education Foundation Sponsors NASP State Coordinator Event

RAPID CITY, SD (September 8, 2026) – National Bowhunter Education Foundation
(NBEF) sponsored the recent National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP ® ) State
Coordinator and Educators event in Helena, MT. NBEF Executive Director Marilyn
Bentz addressed the gathering during an NBEF-sponsored lunch and thanked the
coordinators for their enthusiasm and dedication.

Bentz discussed the lane markers developed by NBEF to help keep National Archery in
the Schools Program (NASP ® ) 3-D tournaments running smoothly and safely. Each strip
includes 2”x3” floor stickers depicting each of the six 3D animals, in smallest to largest
shooting order, and helping student identify the targets. The stickers are positioned on
top of tape on the floor to indicate student’s shooting lanes and applicable target. The
strips feature four-color artwork of a turkey, coyote, bear, antelope, whitetail and big
horn sheep. NBEF sells the bundle of 3 strips for $10.

“The National Bowhunter Education Foundation is proud to support the NASP ® program
and assist with keeping its tournaments safe and organized,” said Bentz. “NASP
engages millions of students each year, providing hands-on learning opportunities and
creating an interest in archery and bowhunting. It is apparent that we need to engage
these students early to promote the benefits of bowhunting.”

NASP ® ’s mission is to promote instruction in international-style target archery as part of
in-school curriculum, to improve educational performance and participation in the
shooting sports among students in grades 4-12.

National Bowhunter Education Foundation (NBEF) attended the National Archery in the
Schools Program (NASP ® ) Eastern Nationals and Western Nationals and shared
information about NBEF’s safety and success-focused bowhunter ed classes with the
thousands of NASP ® participants, their coaches and families.

“As we continue to introduce millions of young people to the sport of archery, we are
extremely grateful to the NBEF for its tremendous support and continued
encouragement,” explained NASP ® President Tommy Floyd. “It’s remarkable to work
with individuals who share our vision for conservation and dedication to ensuring the
successful future of our sport. Thank you NBEF!”
