When it comes to tarpon fishing, Boca Grande Pass is tough to beat. Large schools of fish, scenic views and a great atmosphere for a fishing trip.
A group of members from AGLOW, or The Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers, gathered in southwest Florida for three days of fishing, content creating, meals and more. We’ll have a collection of links to their works on this page below.
“The food was exceptional at every dinner stop,” Forrest Fisher said. “None better in the world. The accommodations were very private, comfortable, clean, fully functional and secure. The location was central and perfect.”
“I have generally not been a fish eater in the past but I found the Macadamia Nut Encrusted Mahi at Lock ‘N Key absolutely a delight,” said Anne Condrad. “I am still bragging about what a fantastic meal that was.”
AGLOW media camps are an opportunity to connect writers/creators with tourism destinations and outdoor brands. We like to say that it’s a “win win” for everyone. If you are interested in coming along on the next media camp, first make sure you join AGLOW. It’s easy, the networking is endless and the cost is low. Click here to find out more.
“This was my second time fishing in the area and I count it as some of the best I have experienced anywhere, “Conrad added. “Captain Jay Withers got us on tarpon the first day and I hooked a really nice one. Unfortunately it turned toward the boat just long enough to give me some slack in the line which the bugger took full advantage of, when he turned and snapped my line completely. But it was exciting and taught me a great lesson.”
“From tarpon fishing to kayak fishing, our guides were informative, talkative, and knowledgeable,” Fisher said. “We hooked up and caught tarpon…success. Amazing and unforgettable.”
“The whole experience was delightful,” said Conrad. “I was able to make new friends, catch great fish and dine at some of the best restaurants in the area. Just this trip made my whole membership in AGLOW worth it!”
