Dozier takes his third turkey calling title
Wayne Dozier won his third all-around turkey calling championship in five years during the National Wild Turkey Federation sanctioned 2024 World Turkey Calling Championships, held June 7-8 in Mobile, Alabama.
The champion from Dickinson, Alabama won the World Open Championship as the best all-around turkey caller at the event. To win this competition, entrants must make several specific calls assigned by the event staff as a panel of judges sequestered behind a curtain scores the calling. Dozier previously won the competition in 2019 and 2022. Event officials cancelled the 2020 competition because of the pandemic.
